Western Technology Center (WTC) partners with business and industry to develop course curriculum for today’s workplace. WTC’s course curriculum gears toward individualized instruction with opportunities for hands-on experience and resulting in certifications. WTC has training in 20 career areas, Oilfield/Safety training and numerous short-term adult courses at five campus locations: Burns Flat, Elk City, Hobart, Sayre and Weatherford. Elk City campus is the newest addition to the district, serving all of Oklahoma with training for Fire, Law Enforcement and Emergency personnel. WTC and the University Of Oklahoma College Of Dentistry join to offer the educational and clinical baccalaureate requirements for a degree in Dental Hygiene. Additionally, WTC offers Workforce 2000 program for adults and GED preparation courses. Students can validate competencies through WorkKeys occupational certifications, which measure students’ skills critical to job success. Secondary students (grades 11 and 12) living within the district are eligible to attend WTC tuition-free as an addition to their school schedules. WTC focuses on STEM education within all areas of training. Specifically, secondary students can attend The Biomedical Academy through Project Lead The Way with rigorous math and science courses.
